New Mexico Lotería Mug - La Ristra

"La Ristra" means the string in Spanish. However, here in New Mexico, La Ristra is a beautiful string of red chile peppers! They are often used as Christmas decorations, since they are harvested in the fall. A ristra is then used over the winter to season all kinds of foods from soups to coffee! New Mexicans put chile peppers in almost everything. It's pretty much an obsession in this state. This mug celebrates New Mexican chiles, the best chiles in the world!

The 12 in the top left corner stands for December, and the use of ristras as Christmas decorations.
