New Mexico Lotería Mug - El Corazon - The Heart

This is part of my New Mexico Loteria series!

For reasons I can't really explain, there are sacred hearts all over New Mexico, especially in Santa Fe and Albuquerque. They are an art tradition here, often made of tin. I assume their popularity is tied to the strong Catholic traditions in New Mexico, as the sacred heart has come to represent Jesus Christ's love and compassion of humanity within Catholicism.  Here's your chance to own your own sacred heart mug! The 27 in the top left corner is in reference to the original Lotería card with an anatomical heart that was also numbered 27. (Also, 27 is my lucky number and I obviously love hearts!)

The mug is a 11oz ceramic mug. The design repeats on both sides of the mug.

Hand wash for best results. If placed in the dishwasher, place in upper rack.
